When Pastor Everell “Gus” Gustave — 27-year U.S. Army Master Sergeant, ordained pastor, and founder of Soldier on Fire LLC, was falsely accused and facing the greatest fight of his life, he searched for something that could help him survive it.
He found the Stoic writings of Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. Brilliant works on enduring hardship with reason, self-control, and dignity. But none of them were written for a soldier standing before a court-martial. None of them had walked through a military investigation, a system wired to presume guilt, or the silence of people who once called themselves friends.
So he wrote what he could not find.
