The Man Behind the Mission

“I did not choose this battle. But I refused to lose it. And everything God brought me through — I wrote down so you would not have to fight blind.”

— Pastor Everell “Gus” Gustave

Forged in Service

Everell “Gus” Gustave did not stumble into leadership — he was built for it.

Over 27 years of active duty service in the United States Army, Gus rose to the rank of Master Sergeant — one of the most demanding and respected enlisted positions in the military. He led soldiers through the full weight of military life: deployments, discipline, sacrifice, and the kind of pressure that reveals a man’s true character.

He served with integrity. He served with excellence. And when the system he gave nearly three decades of his life to turned against him, he did not fold.

He fought back — and he won.

The Fire That Named Him

At the height of his military career, Gus faced what no soldier is ever truly prepared for — a false accusation that threatened to erase everything he had built.

What followed was a battle on every front simultaneously. Legal. Professional. Relational. Spiritual. The military justice system, the disappearance of people he trusted, the silence where support should have been, and the internal war that comes when a man’s identity is stripped down to a charge he did not commit.

He searched for resources. He searched for a guide. He found the ancient Stoic writings of Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius — philosophy built for enduring hardship with reason and dignity. Powerful. But incomplete. None of them had stood before a military tribunal. None of them had survived what he was walking through.

So Gus became the resource he could not find.

The allegations were brought before a military court of law. They were proven false. But the battle and the lessons it forged were too important to keep to himself.

Called to More Than Survival

Long before the false accusation, and through every moment of it, Gus carried a calling that no court-martial could touch.

He is an ordained pastor and the founder of God’s Family Ministry (GFAM) — a multi-platform faith community built around the intersection of biblical truth, spiritual warfare, and practical Kingdom living. Alongside his wife, First Lady Liza Gustave, GFAM serves believers across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and beyond under the handle @gfamministries4life.

Rooted in a Messianic and Hebrew Roots theological foundation, Gus’s ministry does not separate faith from the fight. It insists that the two are inseparable — that the God who called you into service is the same God who will carry you through the fire.

Writing What Others Were Afraid to Say

In Liar, Liar, Soldier on Fire, Gus did what few survivors of military injustice have the courage to do, he named it, documented it, and published it.

Part memoir. Part survival guide. Part spiritual testimony. The book walks readers through the psychological, legal, and faith-based landscape of surviving a false accusation, from the initial shock of being charged, to the collapse of trusted relationships, to the long road back to identity and purpose.

It is available now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Audible, iTunes, and Google Play — in hardcover, paperback, and audiobook.

And it is only the beginning. The Soldier on Fire Series — including The False Accusation Survival Guide, targeted short-read eBooks, and the Defend Your Name course — continues expanding the mission: to ensure that no service member or civilian ever faces a false accusation without a resource equal to the battle.

Why Soldier on Fire Exists

Soldier on Fire LLC was not built as a brand. It was built as a response.

A response to a system that failed a good soldier. A response to the silence that surrounds false accusations. A response to the absence of faith-based, military-informed resources for people navigating the darkest seasons of their lives.

Every book, every eBook, every course, and every piece of content published under the Soldier on Fire name carries one mission:

To equip the falsely accused, the betrayed, and the battle-weary with the tools, the truth, and the faith they need to survive — and to rise.
